PURE DRINKING WATER PERFECTION IN THREE STAGES

When it comes to your safety and enjoyment, we don’t do things by halves. To ensure that the water that flows from a LUQEL Water Station is as pure as possible, every drop is passed through our triple filtration system.

So what does that look like?

STAGE 1

SEDIMENT FILTRATION

In the first stage of the LUQEL Water Station’s rigorous filtration process, the tap water passes through the sentiment filter.

This stage is designed to target coarse impurities such as sand, lime, and rust particles. It’s the heavy lifting stage of the filtration process, resolving issues like water cloudiness.

But it’s just the start of the water’s purification journey.

How does sediment filtration work?

Often referred to as the fine filter, this filter works like a sieve, removing impurities that can be seen by the naked eye.

High levels of pressure are applied to remove particles larger than 5 micrometres from the water, after which the water can pass through to the second stage of filtration.

STAGE 2

ACTIVATED CARBON FILTRATION

Once the water is clear of heavier debris, it’s time for the activated carbon filter to work its magic.

During this stage of the filtration process, the water passes through a porous, fine-grained carbon made from natural materials such as coconut shells or wood. This ultra-fine filter removes impurities like chlorine, microplastics, insecticides, pesticides and organic contaminants.

Anything bigger than 1 nanometre can’t slip through.

How does activated carbon filtration work?

On a microscopic level, activated carbon materials are made up of channel-shaped pores, which gives it an incredibly large surface area for its size.

Pollutant molecules are absorbed and bound by these pores and are unable to pass through. It means that the water is almost as pure as it can get. But not quite.

STAGE 3

Reverse Osmosis Filtration

The third and final stage of filtration, where the water is stripped of its tiniest impurities and contaminants. These are the elements that, until recently, science was unable to scour from our domestic drinking water using traditional methods involving lead, chromium or nitrate.

By facilitating pressure levels of up to 10 bars as the water is sent through the osmosis membrane, only pure water molecules are able to pass through and land in your LUQEL Water Bottle seconds later.

How does reverse osmosis work?

The reverse osmosis filter is a crucial element of LUQEL’s new Hydronar® technology. It separates the contaminates from the remaining water molecules, leaving only purified water free of foreign substances.
