The sewage water treatment process isn't able to remove all the unwanted substance that are found in our water. Therefore sediment filters play an important role in the preliminary stage to achieve clean drinking water.
HOW DOES SEDIMENT FILTRATION WORK?
Sediment filters can reliably remove coarse impurities such as sand, lime, rust particles and turbidity from the water. The diameter of the filter pores varies between 1 micrometer and 80 micrometers (1 micrometer = 0.001 millimeter). However, smaller molecules such as water, the ions sodium, chloride and other minerals can still pass through them.

For optimum filtration, different filtration processes are applied and combined with each other at the point of use. It is not the number but the type of filter that is decisive here. The ultra-fine porous reverse osmosis membrane technology has proven to be a reliable and effective separation process that works without chemicals. The filtration process preceding it relies on the combination of a HYDRONAR activated carbon filter with a particle filter and the sediment filter.
The HYDRONAR® sediment filter functions as an important first instance for the following finer filter systems in the LUQEL water dispenser. The sediment filter reliably filters out turbidity and coarser contamination from the water by particles > 500 µm.
